Soft skills development in Meninas Digitais do Vale project: findings from a retrospective
Abstract
People who work in the Computing area need to acquire several professional skills to stand out in the marketplace. In this context, we emphasize soft skills, which are interpersonal skills that are related to the professional's performance in different situations. This paper describes an investigation about the development of soft skills during participation in the Meninas Digitais do Vale project. A retrospective was conducted with the team about their experiences during their participation in the project. The participants' narratives were analyzed qualitatively, using the Thematic Analysis methodology. The results showed that the project participation supports the development of soft skills, as leadership, creativity, teamwork, diversity and communication.
