Diagnosis about Women's Presence in the Distribution of Computer Science Awards

Abstract

Professionals who significantly contribute to the evolution of Computing are often recognized through the attribution of awards. This work presents the result of a mapping of the awards granted by ACM, IEEE, and SBC until the end of 2021 and highlights need for a wider space for women in the award distribution scenario in Brazil and abroad. The main contributions are the presentation of the awards panorama, showing the concentration of awards in male scientists in the results of the three analyzed institutions and the questions raised about this concentration.
