Abstract

Scientific evidence confirms the effectiveness of working on the deconstruction of gender stereotypes since childhood, where there is a greater impact on the future behaviour of human beings. This article reports on the experience of building and implementing the Book Club – Computing Stories: an initiative aimed at promoting the teaching of technology concepts to children by presenting computer stories and focusing on reducing "anonymous" women in the context through children's literature. The club also offers reading sessions, discussions, and an activity booklet as approaches to reinforce content. The objective is, therefore, to guide children to develop an egalitarian view of men and women in computing.
