Female participation in game jams: a study on gender equality in game development marathons

Abstract


This work presents a study about the female participation in game jams, delivering the results of the research carried out in the Portomídia Game Jam das Minas, a game development event focused on the female audience. The work aims to investigate gender equality in events of this nature and identify female motivations and discouragement for their participation in game jams.
