Abstract

This work presents a simulation tool for cross-layer design over adaptive wireless networks. Such tool gathers finite-length queuing characterization, traffic arrival models for different applications and multipath fading effects over wireless channels. Besides, this work shows a case study using the developed tool to analyze four different traffic sources. Such analysis takes into account metrics such as dropping probability, average delay on queue, spectral efficiency and physical-layer packet error rate.
