The Proceedings of the 6th e-Science Workshop (e-Science 2012) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Curitiba/PR, Brazil, from July 16 to 19, 2012, as part of the 32nd Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC 2012) which had the theme "Computing and Innovation: expanding frontiers to solve challenges in Brazil". In this issue, the proceedings include 07 full papers and 04 work in progress. The event's program committee was coordinated by Eduardo Bezerra (CEFET/RJ) and Eduardo Ogasawara (CEFET/RJ), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on 04/30/2012, accepted for publication on 06/07/2012, with the final version submitted on 06/13/2012.
