Kaya: gamified mobile platform to support student collaboration
Abstract
Collaboration is seen as a facilitating aspect of learning in various pedagogical theories. On the other hand, strategies based on Game-Based Learning (GBL) and the gamification of learning environments have been proposed. However, few solutions have been proposed in the Brazilian community that incorporate technological resources from mobile devices, such as geolocation, in gamified environments to support teaching. Thus, the article presents the development of the Kaya prototype, a gamified platform that aims to explicitly support collaboration between participants.
