S.O.S WORDS: A game to be an assistant in learning how to correct spelling mistakes
Abstract
This paper presents the Portuguese language game "S.O.S Words" designed to help elementary school students correct spelling errors in an attractive and fun way. The storyline unfolds in a city suddenly infested with spelling errors, where the player embarks on a journey to uncover the culprit behind all this chaos. The game's mechanics are based on Motivation Theories, aiming to stimulate players through dynamics of unlocking and capturing letters with correct spelling, encouraging learning in a playful and engaging manner. The game is characterized as a platform game, developed exclusively for Android devices.
