The Proceedings of the 25th Thesis and Dissertation Contest (CTD 2012) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Curitiba/PR, Brazil, from July 16 to 19, 2012, as part of the 32nd Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC 2012) which had the theme "Computing and Innovation: expanding frontiers to solve challenges in Brazil". The event's program committee was coordinated by Luciano Paschoal Gaspary (UFRGS) and Luis Carlos Erpen De Bona (UFPR), who organized this volume.
