Abstract

More and more farmers are realizing that the decision-making and use of intelligent systems in agriculture is more than a trend, it becomes a matter of survival and necessity due to the globalization of the economy and the competitiveness of agricultural products. This work presents an approach focused on improving the quality of tomato crops. We developed low-cost computational strategies aimed at supporting family farmers in the early detection of firewood. Our approach uses techniques from the field of Precision Agriculture, being applied in tomato cultivars of an experimental field where field observations, images and annotations collected by farmers and used in neural networks for the detection of the disease were processed.
