The Proceedings of the 1st Regional School on Information Systems  of Rio de Janeiro (ERSI-RJ 2014) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Niterói, from November 4 to 8. In this issue, the proceedings include 17 papers selected through a blind peer review process. The event's program committee was coordinated by Claudia Cappelli and José Viterbo Filho, who organized this volume.
