The Proceedings of the 8th Theory of Computation Meeting (ETC 2023) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in João Pessoa, PB, Brazil, from August 06-11, 2023, as part of the 43rd Congress of the Brazilian Computing Society (CSBC 2023), whose theme was "Opportunities and challenges of integrating the physical and digital worlds". In this issue, the proceedings include 40 extended abstracts, which were selected through a single-blind review process, among 51 submitions, impliing an acceptance rate of 78.4%. The event's Program Committee Chairs Cristina Gomes Fernandes (USP), Manoel Bezerra Campêlo Neto (UFC), and Vinicius Fernandes dos Santos (UFMG) organized this volume. The papers in this volume were submitted on 04/05/2023, accepted for publication on 05/20/2023, having the final version submitted on 05/28/2023.
