Participatory Design and ADHD: Literature-Based Guidelines
Abstract
Introduction: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects functions such as attention and organization; which can limit participation in traditional participatory design (PD) methods. Adapting PD to the needs of this audience can contribute to more meaningful practices. Objective: This article investigates the state of the art regarding PD for people with ADHD symptoms; aiming to propose a guide of good practices; with a view to promoting the active participation of this public in the co-creation process; promoting their talents; and overcoming barriers. Methodology: The literature review mapped guidelines to make participatory design more effective. Expected Results: Resulting in a guide with recommendations for comfort and engagement.
