Developing of an Inclusive Application to Support Daily Activities of People with Cognitive Disabilities

Abstract

Introduction: Many digital technologies remain inaccessible to people with cognitive disabilities; often due to poor support for memory; symbolic comprehension; and interface consistency. This study presents the participatory development of a mobile application designed to support daily task management through inclusive interaction strategies. Developed collaboratively with 24 users; the application integrates time-based task filtering; simplified iconography; and multimodal feedback. Field testing revealed improvements in comprehension; engagement; and autonomy particularly when users interacted with consistent navigation patterns and received personalized verbal prompts. Our findings emphasize the value of inclusive design practices grounded in user participation.
