A platform for authoring therapeutic digital games that support the treatment of children with cancer
Abstract
Therapeutic games aim to support rehabilitation treatments and help patients understand, motivate and persist in therapeutic practices. This paper describes a platform for authoring digital games configured by health professionals to conduct therapeutic activities with their patients and their caregivers. The platform features a web interface for game authoring and report viewing, as well as a mobile app for displaying games created for patients. Participatory Design techniques were used during development to engage all stakeholders. Initial feedback points to the adherence of professionals to the solution created.
