Co-design of an Intelligent conversational agent to Improve the telecare of elderlies in social and financial vulnerability
Abstract
One of the main challenges of society is the aging of the population. In São Gonçalo, home care services can be offered to assist elders with reduced mobility and motor disabilities. However, several factors, such as the high rate of violence in certain areas, prevent health professionals who support these elders to visit them. To partially minimize these challenges, as the limited contact between patients and these professionals, for example, this research proposes the use of Intelligent Conversational Agents as a tool of telecare execution. Through an initial exploratory study, it was possible to identify the participants approach considering the social and economic characteristics of the context. Moreover, the results also exposed challenges of how telecare is conducted nowadays and opportunities of interventions for contextual adversities changes
