Information Retrieval Systemas Applied to Academic Productions
Abstract
This work presents an Information Retrieval System that works like a traditional search engine on the web, but including only productions related to members of the PUC-Rio community in its results. The idea is to make it possible to identify research and/or development projects and existing competencies in laboratories and departments, coordinated by members of the PUC-Rio faculty-researchers, based on a search for one or a list of keywords. Data sources were converted to RDF format using domain ontologies and stored in a NoSQL database that supports natively free text indexing. Search results include names, scientific production, teaching activities and contact links. From this perspective, it was possible to build two systems that work as search engines: Busc@NIMA and Quem@PUC.
