InVesalius: Free Software for Medical Imaging

Abstract


This work presents InVesalius, an open-source imaging software. Initially, the historical context and motivation for its development are discussed. Then, some software internals and development aspects are commented, as well as InVesalius main features and applications. At the end, the results of a survey realized within the user community are presented.
