Abstract

Virtual Reality and Image Processing are important techniques for implementing tools aiming at simulating procedures. In this context, several benefits are available for medical training. Tools that simulate medical procedures can be built aiming at allowing training of students and professionals in relation to actions that require precision and effectiveness, decreasing the cost of training in medium term. This work presents the use of Image Processing and Virtual Reality to generate virtual environments for medical training in a dynamic way, considering as subject the breast biopsy. Thereby, the user can execute the actions inherent to this procedure in the virtual environment using data extracted from real case.
