Abstract

The aim of this work is to present a 3-D virtual immersive environment, integrating Artificial Intelligence techniques to support the treatment of anxiety using the EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) strategies to desensitize past traumatic events. The system is a 3D representation of an office with a virtual therapist that induces the user to perform eye movement while communicating with him. Health professionals evaluated the system, and they considered that the system has possibilities to help therapists adopt new technologies in their practices.
