The Proceedings of the 34th Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering (SBES 2020) bring the papers selected and presented in Natal on October 19 – 23, 2020 as part of the 11th Brazilian Symposium on Software (CBSOFT 2020). In this issue, the proceedings include papers from the four tracks of SBES: Research, Insightful Ideas and Emerging Results, Education, and Tools. The Research Track includes 43 full research articles and 5 short research articles selected from 116 valid submissions. The acceptance rate was around 37% for the full research articles. The Insightful Ideas and Emerging Results Track presents 22 research articles selected from 47 valid submissions, with an acceptance rate of about 46%. The Education Track selected 19 articles from 53 submissions, with an acceptance rate of 36%. The Tools Track includes 15 full articles selected from 38 valid submissions, with an acceptance rate was around 39%. These papers were selected through a double-blind review. The event's program committee was coordinated by Tayana Conte (UFAM) e Fernando Castor (UFPE), who organized this volume. The track of Insightful Ideas and Emerging Results was coordinated by Márcio Ribeiro (UFAL) and Marco Túlio Valente (UFMG). The Education Track was coordinated by Igor Steinmacher (NAU and UTFPR) and Rodrigo Santos (UNIRIO). The Tools Track was coordinated by Elisa Yumi Nakagawa (ICMC-USP) and Christina von Flach G. Chavez (UFBA). The articles in this volume were submitted on 06/15/2020, accepted for publication on 08/06/2020, with the final version submitted on 08/20/2020.
