Analysis of mythological influences on the mechanics of the expansion Theros Beyond Death of the game Magic: The Gathering

Abstract

This work analyzes the card mechanics of the Theros Beyond Death expansion of the game Magic: The Gathering from the perspective of the mythological narrative. The selected cards were submitted to a comparative analysis derived from a documental research of their narratives influenced by Greek myths with their respective mechanics. Finally, with the result of the research, different levels of influence of the mythological aspects in the mechanics were verified.
