Abstract

Narratives are a common element of games and business processes, essential to business process-based digital games (BPBDG). However, it is hard for screenwriters to match process model elements into narrative elements. Hence, we present the Script Your Process Application (SYPApp) in this work. It is a system that supports identifying and mapping process model elements to narrative elements. We evaluate it by a quasi-experimental study, applying the technology acceptance model (TAM) to analyze the screenwriters’ perception of usefulness, ease, and attitude of use. As a result, we observed evidence of positive perception above these dimensions. Thus, we considered SYPApp a possible tool to support business process-based narratives. Therefore, we bring contributions to the game research field, creating tools to help design narratives, even in the specific context of BPBDG.
