Interaction and technology design applied to the process of developing an adaptive digital game controller for children with multiple disabilities

  • Isabel Cristina Siqueira da Silva UFCSPA

Abstract

This article presents the stages of development of an adaptive control of digital games aimed at children with multiple disabilities. The proposal started from the premise of proposing a low -cost interaction device that considers concepts of interaction design and assistive technology. The development had the collaboration of occupational therapists throughout the process, who work directly with children with neuropsychomotor impairment. After tests and proof of concept, it was found that the proposed controller achieved the objectives outlined in this work, allowing its use by children with different disabilities and helping the functional assessment performed by such professionals.
