Computational Thinking integrated to Mathematics at BNCC: proposal for the first year of Elementary School

Abstract

Computational Thinking (CT) can be seen as a methodology to solve problems in the most diverse areas based on Computer Science concepts. The Common National Curriculum Base already makes references to this methodology and related skills, but in a specific way and, mainly, related to the thematic unit of Algebra in Mathematics. In this work, skills that relate different thematic areas of Mathematics in the first year of elementary school and some concepts of the CT are presented in order to illustrate the scope and feasibility of integrating this methodology into the curriculum from the first years of teaching.
