Smart Learning Environments in support of learning ecosystems

Abstract

The world has turned more and more attention to artificial intelligence in the most diverse fields of society and education still faces strong challenges, which range from personalizing learning, to identifying students at risk of failure. A promising bet are the so-called Smart Learning Environments (SLEs), which make use of intelligent technological resources to support learning and allow students and teachers to extract their potential in a personalized way. This paper presents a conceptual framework that serves as a support for the design of these environments, and also describes two case studies carried out from the modeling of practical applications conceived based on the framework.
