Generative AI in Education: Personalizing Stories to Facilitate Children's Learning to Read
Abstract
This article investigates the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to facilitate children's learning to read by personalizing children's stories accompanied by automatically generated images. A prototype mobile application was developed using advanced technologies, such as the OpenAI and Google APIs, to create personalized narratives and images based on the contexts provided by users. The results indicate that the prototype is effective in generating cohesive and engaging stories, with visually appealing images suitable for children. The study concludes with proposals for future functionalities and an analysis of operating costs, highlighting the educational potential of the application and suggesting directions for further improvements.
