Mouse Button: An Assistive Technology for Digital Inclusion of People with Motor Disabilities or Reduced Mobility
Abstract
The assistive technologies available on the market have a high cost, making their acquisition unfeasible and limiting access for people with disabilities or reduced mobility to essential computational resources for their autonomy. This represents a significant barrier to the digital inclusion of this population. In this context, this work presents the development of the Mouse Button, a low-cost adapted mouse designed for individuals with motor disabilities or reduced mobility. Evaluation with the target audience indicates that the device has great potential to assist people with disabilities in accessing computers, in addition to being an economically accessible option.
