Abstract

Frameworks have been used in game development to reduce time and cost. However, there are not many frameworks for the development of educational games. This article compares the main frameworks for the educational games development, published in the last years. The result is the comparison of 13 frameworks in relation to the characteristics of application, life cycle, pedagogical and gameplay elements.
Keywords: frameworks, educational games, education, game development, playability
