Implantability as an Attribute of Software Quality
Abstract
Much emphasis has been given to the software product characteristics, taking into account the development process and the day by day usage. Aspects such as the usability, the performance, the robustness and the integrity are considered during the development and evaluated during its use. However, between these two phases there is a stage that has had its importance relegated to a second plane: the transition between the end of the development and the operational period. We believe this period is crucial for the success or the failure of software in an organization. This paper describes the implantability as one of the quality attributes of the software. The implantability is the feature that measures how easy is the adoption of a software within an organization. The detailed definition of this attribute and the proposal of measurement and comparison among different software are the main goals of this work.
