The Proceedings of the 17th Brazilian Symposium on Information and Computational Systems Security (SBSeg 2017) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Brasília/DF, from November 06-09, 2017. In this issue, the proceedings include 34 full papers and 12 short papers. These papers were selected through a double-blind review. The event's program committee was coordinated by Paulo Lício de Geus (Unicamp) and Rossana Andrade (UFC), who organized this volume. The full papers in this volume were submitted on 07/17/2017, and accepted for publication on 09/11/2017, with the final version submitted on 09/18/2017. The short papers were submitted on 09/20/2017, and accepted for publication on 10/13/2017, with the final version submitted on 10/13/2017.
