Investigando a Efetividade das Contramedidas em Navegadores Modernos contra o Web Tracking
Resumo
Navegadores modernos implementam contramedidas contra rastreamento web com eficácia variada. Este artigo avaliou seis navegadores desktop populares (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox, Opera, Brave) quanto às técnicas stateful (ex.: cookie syncing) e stateless (ex.: fingerprinting). Por meio de testes automatizados em 90 sites e ferramentas de análise de fingerprinting, os resultados mostram que todos lidam bem com rastreamento stateful, mas diferem significativamente contra fingerprinting. O Chrome não oferece proteções nativas a essa técnica, enquanto Safari, Firefox e Brave possuem medidas avançadas. Devido à detecção de automação, as comparações foram prioritariamente qualitativas.
