The Proceedings of the 8th Workshop on Aspects of Human-Computer Interaction for the Social Web (WAIHCWS 2017) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Joinville, on October 23, 2019, as part of the 16th Brazilian Symposium on Human Factors in Computing Systems. This event edition had the theme “technical, human, and organizational relationships in software ecosystems”. The event's program committee was coordinated by Cristiano Maciel (UFMT), José Viterbo (UFF), and Rodrigo Santos (UNIRIO), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on 09/18/2017, accepted for publication on 10/09/2017.
