The Proceedings of the 5th Workshop on Computing Applied to the Management of the Environment and Natural Resources (WCAMA 2014) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Brasília, from July 28 to 31, as part of the 34th Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC 2014) which had the theme "Social Systems and Mass of People Events: Expanding Challenges on Computing". The event's program committee was coordinated by Cláudio Campelo (UFCG) and Marco Domingues (IFPE), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on April 5, accepted for publication on May 17, with the final version submitted on May 31.
