Netkit tool and virtualization applied to the teaching and learning of computer networks

Abstract

The computer network study is not a trivial task. Although it is possible to learn computer networks through books, magazines, and specialized forums, it is known that practical experimentation is a very important factor in learning this discipline. This is the problem that appears, as this is a costly process, involving the availability of some facilities and privileges to modify settings for any of them, including the possibility of making them unavailable. Thus, this Works aims at presenting both the use and advantages of using Netkit in teaching computer network. The results presented in this paper demonstrate the viability and increase in learning when students use Netkit and the tutorials to teaching computer network.
