Abstract

This paper investigates how much the profile of programming competitions for high school girls influences their motivation to compete. To this end, data on the participation in 4 competitions throughout the 2017-2019 three-year period, 2 focusing on traditional programming marathons and 2 focusing on entrepreneurship and technology, were collected. For the considered data sample, parameters such as origin course and total participation in the triennium were observed and the results revealed that girls are more interested in entrepreneurship and applied technology competitions.
