Investigating female participation focusing on software Testing and Quality
Abstract
Demand for IT professionals has increased significantly. Despite this, many job openings are not filled. The low female participation in the IT area contributes to this lack. Several articles discuss female participation in IT, but in some sub-areas it’s difficult to find available data. This article presents data and some issues related to female participation in specific areas of Software Engineering: Test and Quality. Results based on quali-quantitative analysis show a high concentration of female participation in these areas in the Northeast and Southeast regions.
