Promoting spaces for encouraging and training girls and women in technology: an experience report from active students
Abstract
This article aims to present an experience report of a project developed in public schools by a higher education institution in Brazil. The project promotes spaces aimed at students’ participation, encouragement, and training on basic knowledge of robotics and programming, focusing on female empowerment in elementary. The article illustrates the perceptions of the scholarship students regarding the importance of their role in the project and the challenges posed by the return to face-to-face activities after the pandemic period, as well as dissemination actions and future work. The students recognized the relevance of their participation and managed to overcome their difficulties, motivating other women to enter the technological area.
