Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trends in Brazil Using Bipartite Networks
Abstract
Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions are the main driver of global climate change, impacting ecosystems, economies, and societies. In Brazil, these emissions stem from agriculture, land-use change, the energy sector, and industrial processes. Despite the extensive data from SEEG, the lack of structural analysis linking states and sectors hinders the identification of inter-regional and intersectoral patterns. This work models these interactions using bipartite networks, analyzing structural and temporal patterns from 1973 to 2022. The results indicate a transition from industrial centers to agricultural and energy regions, contributing to more efficient public policies.References
