Improvement of semantic-structural similarity computation: a study focused on ontological structures in portuguese

Abstract


This paper provide strategies to improve the SiSe measure (Semantic similarity) [Freitas 2007], which aims to calculate the similarity between terms of different ontological structures. The strategies introduced improve the results of the semantic similarity coefficient, mainly with the analysis of false positives and false negatives.
