Abstract

Emerging technologies are increasingly contributing to people's daily lives. With great revolutionary power and aggregation of its potential, a need in software factories is to add inclusion features for people with disabilities in software products. In an ad-hoc search of the literature for software quality material aimed at ensuring accessibility in software development for emerging technologies, such as guidelines and best practices, an important lack was identified: a Verification and Validation (V&V) checklist for technologies emerging. As a first step in this direction, this article aims to highlight the importance of accessibility in emerging technologies in the V&V stages of software engineering to serve a broad and diverse audience in a checklist that derives best practices to consider in the development of emerging software for Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
