Comparando os posicionamentos a favor/contra a vacinação COVID nos Estados Unidos da América e no Brasil

Resumo


A Organização Mundial da Saúde endossa a vacinação como a forma mais eficaz de combater a pandemia de COVID-19, mas a hesitação em se vacinar é uma realidade em muitos países. Este artigo desenvolve uma estudo temporal das posturas pró/contra a vacinação COVID-19 nos Estados Unidos da América (EUA), traçando um paralelo com o Brasil usando dados do Twitter. Concluímos que o movimento antivacinação nos EUA é mais dominante em relação ao Brasil. Embora existam muitos elementos comuns entre os dois países, a população dos EUA é mais objetiva na defesa de suas posições (saúde e segurança versus liberdade individual). No Brasil, observamos a ansiedade da população em se vacinar e um viés político.
