A Low-Cost Pervasive and Intelligent Approach for Monitoring Patients with Cardiovascular Diseases
Abstract
The health remote monitoring techniques are becoming popular due to the advantages that they bring to both health system and patients. There is a trend that such systems become pervasive. However, the devices that support such technology are still presenting a high cost and they work only as routers of information to medical centers. This work discusses the implementation of low cost monitoring systems, based on SMS systems, which carry out an intelligent and pre-processing of information from sensors. A prototype of this system, to patients with cardiovascular problems, is also discussed here.
