The Proceedings of the 45th Software and Hardware Seminar (SEMISH 2018) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Natal, from July 22 to 26, as part of the 38th Brazilian Computing Society Congress (CSBC 2018) which had the theme "Computing and Sustainability". In this issue, the proceedings include 10 full papers. These papers were reviewed by at least three reviewers, from a total of 28 full papers submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 35%. The event's program committee was coordinated by José Marcos Nogueira (UFMG), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on 04/02/2018, accepted for publication on 04/26/2018, with the final version submitted on 05/02/2018.
