The Proceedings of the 14th Symposium on High-Performance Computing Systems (SSCAD 2013) bring the papers selected and presented during the edition held in Porto de Galinhas-PE, from October 23 to 26. In this issue, the proceedings include 20 full papers. These works were selected from a total of 60 submitted articles, which implied a 33,33% acceptance rate for complete articles. The Program Committee was coordinated by Cristina Boeres (UFF) and Abel Guilhermino da Silva Filho (UFPE), who organized this volume. The articles included in this volume were submitted on 07/22/2013, accepted for publication on 09/02/2013, with the final version submitted on 09/16/2013.
