Entre Identidade e Dissonância: Uma Análise Computacional da Comunidade Tradwife no Reddit
Resumo
The tradwife phenomenon has gained visibility on social media by associating domesticity, traditional gender roles, and feminine submission with an aspirational lifestyle. However, little is known about how this identity is organized in text-based communities or how the same users behave outside them. In this paper, we present a computational analysis of the r/tradwives community on Reddit, comparing internal discourse with the external activity of the same users across the platform. We combine topic modeling, moral foundations analysis, and an adaptation of the Customer Behavior Model Graph to examine thematic structures, moral framing, and transitions across contexts. Our results show that internal discourse remains closely aligned with the tradwife ideal, while external activity reveals more diverse thematic and moral repertoires, suggesting tension between community-based identity performance and broader forms of expression. The study contributes an empirical characterization of the tradwife community on Reddit and a methodological approach for analyzing thematic transitions across online contexts.
