The Proceedings of the 22nd Brazilian Symposium on Multimedia and the Web (WebMedia 2016) bring the articles selected and presented at the edition of the event held in Teresina, from November 8 to 11, 2016. This edition includes 29 full papers and 28 short papers, selected from 94 full papers and 62 short papers submissions, with acceptance rates of 30% and 45%, respectively. Each submitted paper was assigned to at least three program committee members for review. The symposium committee adopted a double-blind review process to provide a fair selection from the submissions.
