Mineração textual e letramento: aplicações iniciais da ferramenta Sobek com alunos do Ensino Fundamental
Abstract
Latest surveys by international organizations warn us to a common problem among Brazilian students: the serious difficulties found by them in reading and writing. These difficulties often bring academic and social problems to students, being a hindering difficulty in their education. This study intended to evaluate students' perceptions regarding the use of a text mining tool to assist them in literacy activities. This tool is able to find and extract relevant information from a text and present it in the form of a graph, helping with the visualization of the information presented. In this study we used the Sobek in a series of activities with elementary students from a public school in Brazil. Results showed that students found the tool effective in helping them to organize their ideas in the writing process.
