The Proceedings of the 22nd Workshop on Computing at School (WIE 2016) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Uberlândia/MG from October 24 to 27, 2016, as part of the 5th Brazilian Congress on Computers in Education (CBIE 2016) which had the theme "Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Technological and Educational Development". In this issue, the proceedings include 96 full papers and 7 short papers, which were selected through a double-blind peer review, with an approximate acceptance rate of 49%. The event's Program Committee was coordinated by Elizabeth Matos Rocha (UFGD), Eduardo Takahashi (UFU), Emeli Borges Pereira Luz (UFU), and Fábio Henrique Noboru Abe (UFGD) who organized this volume together with Fabiano Azevedo Dorça (UFU), Hiran Nonato M. Ferreira (UFU), Miller Miranda Mendes (UFU) and Rafael Dias Araújo (UFU). The papers in this volume were submitted on May 31, 2016, accepted for publication on July 31, 2016, with the camera-ready version submitted on August 7, 2016.
WIE 2016 included three tracks:
- Track 1: Experience reports on the use of digital information and communication technologies (ICT) in education, coordinated by Elizabeth Matos Rocha (UFGD) and Claudia Regina Tinós Peviani (UFGD), pages 01 to 628 (full papers) and pages 943 to 967 (short papers);
- Track 2: Training of human resources for the use of digital information and communication technologies (ICT) in education, coordinated by Emeli Borges Pereira Luz (UFU) and Arlindo José de Souza Júnior (UFU), pages 629 to 834 (full papers) and pages 968 to 977 (short papers); and,
- Track 3: Impacts of digital information and communication technologies (ICT) on society, coordinated by Ismar Frango (Mackenzie/SP) and Eduardo Takahashi (UFU), pages 835 to 942 (full papers).
