Maker Culture as a means for meaningful learning in Upper Elementary School
Abstract
The recent inclusion of Computing in the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) requires practical pedagogical approaches to overcome implementation challenges in schools. This paper presents an experience report on a series of Computing and Maker Culture workshops conducted with Middle School students. The intervention involved activities with Virtual Reality, robotics with Arduino, and 3D modeling, with its impact being assessed through questionnaires. The results indicated high levels of satisfaction and motivation among participants, with of students reporting a better understanding of technology and expressing interest in continuing to learn about the subject.
